  Reading an Image - Media Codes Blog Tasks Technical codes The photographed picture of 50 Cent and the finger prints from criminal reports creates an imagery of gangster life. The lighting only pointed towards the high points of 50 Cents face conveys that he want to reveal a truth about himself as he is revealing himself from the darkness therefore creating an enigma code. Written or verbal codes The lexical codes used here giving advice to the audience conveying a strong message. The letter 'O' being shaded in every word represents the amount times he was shot whilst being in his gang life.    Symbolic or non-verbal codes The clothing 50 Cent is wearing probably is what Reeboks is advertising. However the army clothing probably reveals his battle with life. The chain around his neck represents rap culture and gangster life. The facial expression 50 cent has seem to be stiff creating a feeling of that he would never turn back. The whole advertisement is fully black and white.

  Ten Media Questions 1) Why did you choose A Level Media Studies? I chose Media for A levels because I was interested in movies and how they are made. I believe it will help me understand the impact media has on other aspects of my life and would support my other options massively like Business. 2) Did you take GCSE Media Studies (either here at Greenford or a different school)?   My Media Consumption Newspapers Which daily newspapers (if any) do you read?    I sometimes read the The Sun. What sections of newspapers do you turn to first, and why? When I do read the news (which isn't often), I usually start with the international news to stay current on broad information about current events. What sections do you never read, and why? I never read sections on Sports and Health because I'm not interested in it.  What kinds of stories do you usually read and why? I do not read storied unless they are very interesting.
